George Lempriere Sheaffe (1887-1949)
George, the seventh child of George Henry & Amy Sheaffe, was born at Forbes in 1887
and lived at Cooma & Goulburn. He served in WWI in England, France & Egypt. After
the war he first a car dealer in Mossvale or Mittagong, then a Government surveyor serving
in Dubbo & Bourke. He transferred to Sydney as District Commissioner of Western Lands
until his death in 1949. He was cremated at Northern Suburbs Crematorium, Sydney. |

Brian Lempriere Sheaffe (1925- 1998)
Brian, the only surviving child of George Lempriere Sheaffe, was born at Dubbo in 1925.
He grew up in Bourke and went to boarding school and university in Sydney. He transferred
with his employer, Caltex, to Melbourne in 1966 and later worked as a chemist at Melbourne
University. |
